Revolution is one of the newer darknet markets on the scene that has managed to gain a decent user base within 7 months or so of existence. It currently supports a bit fewer than 2,000 listings; the majority of these are in its Drugs category. Beyond this, the market offers very little in the way of original products. Thankfully, it doesn’t have a lot of spam listings either, and its user interface is highly intuitive. The market says that it gives back 10% of all commissions to its userbase and tends to be active in terms of keeping its community up to date on what’s going on.

Revolution has a relatively cheap vendor bond of $200 for new vendors, which is waived for established vendors. Most of the vendors with sales on the market seem to be based in the UK and EU, though some of them will ship internationally. We appreciate that Revolution “forces 2-FA”, and by that we’re pretty sure they mean you must PGP encrypt shipping information during the order placement process. Except for the fact that they are small and have yet to attract a lot of vendors, there’s not much bad to be said about them. Just take the proper precautions, prepare for the worst-case scenario as usual, and you should be fine.

Product Selection

As a newer darknet market, Revolution has a relatively limited product selection, currently supporting a bit less than 2,000 listings in all. About three quarters of these listings are found in their Drugs category. Other categories supported at Revolution include Carded Goods, Counterfeit Goods, Digital Goods, Fraud, Guides, Metals, Misc. Goods, Security & Hosting, Services, and Software & Malware. They do have a sophisticated filter selection, but most categories are so sparse of listings there doesn’t seem much point in using them (at least for the time being).

Payment Methods

Revolution supports Bitcoin (BTC) and Monero (XMR) as deposit options. Vendors have the option to enable Multisig for BTC payments, but from what we can tell, most do not use it (the market seems to have some problems with this option, at least on occasion). Instead, you must first deposit coins into a traditional account wallet, with order payments held by “market escrow”. While this isn’t ideal, it seems to work for most customers; we recommend just never depositing much more than is needed to cover one order at a time. More experienced vendors on Revolution are given FE privileges.

Revolution Pros

  • Easy-to-use interface, simple and straight-forward marketplace.
  • Decent amount of product selection in the Drugs category.
  • Market provides consistent updates, engages community.

Revolution Cons

  • Limited selection of vendors and listings.
  • Relies (mostly) on traditional market escrow payment system.
  • No (major) vendors from North America or Australia.

In all, Revolution is an up-and-coming darknet market that is poised to see significant growth in the near future. It remains on the smaller side for now, but is poised to see significant growth, especially as bigger markets get knocked off. We recommend taking the usual precautions before using them – the most significant of these is not depositing a much larger amount of crypto than required for your next order. This will minimize the damage if the market should suddenly go down (for whatever reason) during the middle of an order.
